The main ingredients are dry or soft woods, like vetiver for example, cedar, sandalwood or amber; not forgetting cedar with its balsamic properties and oriental and sensual patchouli. In the perfumes’ history it can be said that the first of this family was Pino Silvestre by Vidal; later they were so successful that they are still among the best-selling perfumes today, Declaration by Cartier and Fahrenheit by Christian Dior. With regards to the feminine sphere, however, one cannot fail to mention the famous Samsara by Guerlain.
